Today it was looking like there would be absolutely no wind at all. It was shifting back from north to a southerly direction over the morning and we really thought it would be a day off. But we were wrong … just in time after lunch the wind kicked in from the south and Olaf set up the course right away. Shortly later the red flag was up and 5 min later we were thundering across the startline to race to the upwindbuoy in a hard battle about who could ride the best angle and is the fastest. As always Bruno and 3-4 others went far ahead of everyone. Than it was me and some other riders in the middle and the rest behind. This was the case for all the 4 races we had today. In the first race I didn’t pass the finish-line right and was close to go crazy because it cost me like 5 places. But the 3 other races went much much better and I was always up in the top 10, which is good for me – because the guys really did their homework and brought some mad boards to Thailand … it’s really getting so technical and everyone is trying to get an advantage out of the board.

I am getting used more and more to my board now and I can see I really made the right step and can be very thankful to Sacha (our importer) to buy it, so I can also use it for the race. I look forward to the coming KTA – races and hope I can do well there with the new setup.

Anyways, now it’s time to go and have some diner. Maybe fried grasshoppers on the nightmarket?! :D

Later
Sebastian
