The last few days of the SEAT Kitesurf – Worldcup of Sylt have been pretty amazing. We had all kind of different conditions. From nice and steady winds on Monday to low end course – racing on wednesday up until some sunshine + 20kts yesterday for the doubles and amazing weather with perfect winds of more than 20kts today for the wave – riding – comp. Just sick …

I pretty much screwed up on Tuesday in the singles and got kicked out first round by Eric Volpe. Than in the course racing on Wednesday it went quite good. I came in 4th two times in a row and then, after a messed up start I ended up 6th or so in the last race. Can’t say for sure because there are no final ranks out yet.

Well, yesterday we had the doubles of the freestyle – comp and it went just perfect for me. I won 4 heats in a row and finally in a pretty close decision Jerry Van de Kop from Holland won over me in the quarter – finals. Well, I am pretty stoked about ending up 7th place in a World – Cup!! And I am happy for Jerry that he made it so far as well, since his father said they came to Sylt for about one heat or so and he made it up to 6th place. ;-)

Today I decided not to compete in the wave – competition since I want to save my energy for the upcoming course – races and I’ll use the time of to go and visit my parents who live just some 20kms away from Sylt. But tomorrow I’ll be back for the comp to do  my best and see how far I can get with the races. I’ll keep you posted, so stay tuned!
