Atmosphere 09
Last weekend I went to Westward Ho! in the south - west of the UK together with Ramon, our international sales manager to check out the spot and take part in the 2009 Atmosphere - event, which was pretty cool!
The first day unfortunately my luggage didn’t arrive and I had to go out in Ramons equipment. It was a pretty crazy day … there were some bigger waves rolling in and the wind blew 90° offshore and was very low. It was quite a mission to stay upwind and well … in the end the wind dropped and I had to swim back in. The water was around 10 degrees C cold and it was just soooooo chilly!!
But anyways, Saturday turned out cool, after several rainshowers passing over the area and a buggy - kiter who had to be picked up by the airambulance. Hope he’s doing better …
That day I took part in a small comp. and came out 2nd, which was ok.
Sunday we unfortunately didn’t have any winds and just played around on the beach with our kites.
In total it was a super funny weekend and showed me how good the conditions can be - just 1 hour with the plane from Germany we have some of the sweetest waves in Europe!!
Alright … tomorrow I’ll drive another 1000km in the car and hit the first german event this year - the Kitesurf Trophy in Dahme.
Let’s hope the Red Bull will get me well going on the road and the comp will turn out good!
The forecast looks pretty good. 20knts from the east the day after tomorrow.
I’ll keep you posted, folks!
Later
Sebastian
