PKRA
Unfortunately I couldn’t compete in the freestyle this year, because of my busted eardrum. Actually I wasn’t even supposed to get in the water at all, but I just couldn’t resist it … I had to compete to at least get one result. So I did the course – racing instead of sitting on the beach because the possibility of crashing hard and getting a fair amount of water in the ear is quite small, compared to riding freestyle
It went ways better than I expected it … I got a raceboard with quad – fins from Armin which was the best choice I could make! I was quite used to jibing from our wavetrip to Mauritius last year so it went all good and on the first race I came in on first place!! ![]()
Until today we did 10 course races and I did always finish in the top 5 except one race which will be my discard and another one, where Sean Farley protested against me and I got disqualified. Well, the Mexican did even finish before me and the PKRA will change the rule, that I broke for next year, because they did have quite a few problems with it. So congrats to Sean for pushing our sport into a pretty gay looking way like race sailing, where it’s more about reading books and becoming lawyers than going out to ride and have fun!
Anyways, right now I am 0,7 points behind Farley on the 4th place! I can just hope, that there’ll be more races tomorrow or the day after so I can get another chance to beat the Mexican and get on the podium!
So far I was doing the “Cocktail of the day” together with our moderator Ingo Meyer which was also kind of cool!
Cheers
Sebastian
